Privacy Policy
RivalLens monitors your competitors so you don't have to. This policy explains what data we collect about you, how we handle the publicly available data we gather about other companies, and the choices you have.
Effective: 10th March, 2026
This privacy policy is issued by Mnt Labs, LLC (doing business as RivalLens) ("RivalLens," "we," "us," or "our"). It applies whenever you use the RivalLens website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
1. What RivalLens Does
RivalLens is a competitive intelligence platform. You tell us about your company and the competitors you want to track. We then continuously monitor publicly available information—websites, blogs, changelogs, job boards, press releases, pricing pages, and similar sources—and use AI to turn that information into structured reports, alerts, and analysis.
This means our Services involve two distinct categories of data:
- Your data — personal and account information you provide when you sign up and use RivalLens.
- Competitor data — publicly available information we collect about the companies you ask us to monitor. This data is not personal data about you; it is business information gathered from public sources.
The sections below explain how we handle each category.
2. Information We Collect About You
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password, company name, and job title. If you sign up through Google or another OAuth provider, we receive the profile information you authorize.
Company Profile
To generate useful intelligence, we ask you to describe your company—what you do, your industry, your website, and the competitors you want to track. This information shapes the reports we build for you.
Billing Information
Payment details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card number or bank details on our servers. We receive only the information necessary to manage your subscription (e.g., last four digits, expiration date, billing address).
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with RivalLens—pages viewed, features used, reports opened, searches performed, and similar activity. We also collect device and browser information, IP address, and referring URL.
Communications
When you email us, submit a support request, or provide feedback, we keep those communications to improve our Services and assist you.
3. Publicly Available Competitor Data
The core of RivalLens is gathering and analyzing publicly available information about the companies you track. This includes:
- Website content, product pages, and pricing pages
- Blog posts, changelogs, and press releases
- Public job listings and hiring activity
- Publicly announced funding rounds and partnerships
- Social media posts and public profiles
This information is already publicly accessible. We do not scrape private or gated content, access accounts belonging to other companies, or collect personal data about individuals at those companies. We only gather business-level information from public sources.
If you are a representative of a company being monitored and have questions about the data we collect, please contact us at privacy@rivallens.io.
4. How We Use Your Data
Delivering the Service
We use your data to:
- Set up and maintain your account and your team's workspace
- Configure competitor monitoring based on your company profile
- Generate and deliver competitive intelligence reports, alerts, and comparisons
- Process your subscription and billing
Improving the Product
We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand which features are most valuable, identify bugs, and improve the quality of our AI analysis. We do not use your specific company profile or competitor list to train AI models in a way that would expose your data to other customers.
Communications
We send transactional emails (report delivery, account changes, billing receipts) and occasional product updates. You can opt out of product updates at any time; transactional emails are part of the service and cannot be disabled while your account is active.
5. AI and Automated Processing
AI is central to how RivalLens works. We use it to:
- Discover competitors relevant to your business
- Classify and summarize changes detected across competitor websites and public sources
- Score competitor relevance and generate comparison analysis
- Produce the weekly briefings and reports you receive
AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes. It may contain inaccuracies, and you should verify important findings before acting on them. No automated decisions are made about you based on your personal data—AI is applied to competitor data, not to evaluating or profiling our users.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with a limited number of service providers who help us operate RivalLens:
- Cloud infrastructure — hosting, storage, and compute
- Stripe — payment processing
- AI providers — language models used for analysis and report generation
- Email delivery — sending transactional and report emails
- Analytics — understanding product usage (anonymized where possible)
These providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
8. Data Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. Each organization's data is logically isolated so that one customer cannot access another's workspace.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and any applicable regulators as required by law.
9. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Competitive intelligence data—reports, competitor snapshots, and change history—is retained to provide historical trend analysis.
When you close your account:
- Personal data is deleted within 30 days
- Organization data (reports, comparisons) is retained for 90 days in case you reactivate, then deleted
- Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement
- Data required for legal or regulatory compliance may be retained longer
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — fix inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion — request we delete your personal data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing
- Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@rivallens.io. We will respond within 30 days.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To make a request, email privacy@rivallens.io.
EU and UK Residents (GDPR)
We process your data based on contract performance (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interest (improving our product), and consent (where applicable). You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge complaints with your local data protection authority.
12. International Data Transfers
RivalLens is operated from the United States. If you use our Services from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. For EU/UK users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses to provide appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
13. Children's Privacy
RivalLens is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at privacy@rivallens.io and we will delete it promptly.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of RivalLens after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
